Image Library
The first upload to the Picture Yourself library contains over 400 images for you to use. We have many hundreds more which we will be releasing in the coming weeks. Whilst we have launched with as much diversity across both people and activities as possible, we recognise there can always be more and will be continuing to create and upload images. If there is something missing you’d love to see, please get in touch!
You can also connect with us on LinkedIn where we’ll be sharing news about new collections and updates!
The Picture Yourself library uses a detailed tagging system to make images easy to search, navigate, and use responsibly. Each image is tagged across several key areas, helping users find photographs that reflect particular experiences, identities, activities, and environments.
Key tagging categories include:
People and relationships — such as individuals, couples, friendships, family connections, and intergenerational interactions.
Activities and everyday life — including work, hobbies, creativity, movement, care, leisure, volunteering, learning, and social participation.
Settings and environments — for example homes, workplaces, outdoor spaces, community settings, and healthcare environments.
Identity and representation — including cultural diversity, gender expression, disability, and varied ageing experiences.
Emotional tone and atmosphere — such as joy, contemplation, connection, resilience, confidence, or quiet everyday moments.
Visual and photographic elements — including portrait style, candid imagery, black and white photography, close-ups, or documentary approaches.
This layered tagging structure allows users to search beyond stereotypes and find nuanced, authentic images that better represent the diversity and complexity of ageing.
